My name is Katherine Gaskin and I'm a 22 year-old designer and developer.
Knowing that at any one time someone across the world could be looking at something I've made from scratch gives me great fulfillment. I am privileged to have the skills and creativity it takes to be part of such an awesome field of work.
Graphic and web design may be my chosen career choice, but I genuinely enjoy immersing my entire life into it. From constantly keeping up to date with the latest in music, international news, fashion trends, social media, entertainment, pop culture, and the arts I've realized that being a designer isn't just a job, it's a lifestyle.
I love incorporating vibrant, bright color combinations and organic shapes to create compositions of organized chaos. With design, fashion, and life in general I've always believed that being colorful is best.
Also, in a time when consumption, manufacturing, and an obsession with excess is so popular, I want to focus on the idea of being unique, handmade, and original. I love knowing that something I own, whether it be a personalized t-shirt, a hand-painted business card [ view here ], or a website layout is the only one that exists in the entire world.
I'm currently working out of the beautiful city of Toronto as a part-time freelance designer and full-time Communications Associate for the College of Physiotherapists. I graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor's Degree in Media, Information, and Technoculture as well as a diploma in Multimedia Design and Production from Fanshawe College.
